Omir-Day 22

Day 22 – Three weeks and one day   Sunday, April 29, 2012
Netzach v’Netzach    A double portion of eternity.
Having the promise of eternity causes joy and hope to well up within us.  This word “Netzach” has a number of additional meanings in Strong’s Concordance consistent with eternity.  The best meaning is that it refers to a bright object in the far distance that is traveled toward.  It also means splendor, truthfulness, confidence, endurance and continually in direction of a visible goal (which is where “eternally” comes in).

Over and over in Scripture the Hebrew word Netzach is used in the negative as G-d will not always (Lo Netzach) remember or some other thing that G-d will not eternally do.  We this this in the Scripture below…

Ps 103:8  The Almighty IEUE is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and rich in mercy.
9 He will not always chasten, nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so is His mercy toward those who fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children, the Sovereign IEUE pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our form; He remembers that we are dust.
