Unleaven Recipes


Recipe Name:

PaXaCH Fresh Unleaven Bread

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose Wheat flour (Parve)
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1/2 cup warm water
Steps:
  1. Cut oil into flour and salt until particles are size of small peas. Sprinkle in water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until all flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl. Gather dough into a ball; divide into 12 parts. Shape into balls; brush with oil. 
    Cover and let rest 20 minutes.
  2. Roll each ball on floured surface into 6-inch square.
    Pierce with toothpick or fork.

    PreHeat Oven to 350
    Oil and lightly flour an 8x10-inch pan.
    Bake Unleaven until dry around edge.
    Stack.



  • ***Unleaven Bread:
    Variations: Milk and or egg may be leaven sub. for water.
    Roll each ball on floured surface into 4-inch square.
    Pierce with toothpick or fork.
    PreHeat Oven to 350
    Oil and lightly flour an 8-inch pan.
    Bake Unleaven until dry around edge.
    Lightly brush with butter to bake to a golden brown.
    Serve topped with a honey glaze.
    A Spoonful of your favorite jam
    Dash with Cinnamon


Recipe Name:    Parve Flour Tortillas (Tortillas de Harina)

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour (Parve)
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1/2 cup warm water
Steps:
  1. Cut oil into flour and salt until particles are size of small peas. Sprinkle in water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until all flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl. Gather dough into a ball; divide into 12 parts. Shape into balls; brush with oil. Cover and let rest 20 minutes.
  2. Roll each ball on floured surface into 6-inch circle.  Heat ungreased 8-inch skillet over med-high heat until hot. Cook tortilla until dry around edge and bubbles appear on surface about 2 minutes. Turn and cook other side until dry, about 1 minute. Stack tortillas, placing waxed paper between ea. Cover with a damp towel.
    12 tortillas.
