Parashat Ki Tavo

Ki Tavo | כי תבוא | "When you come in "

TURE: DaBaRIM 26:1-29:8
NaBAIAM: ISHOIEU 60:1-22
MaSHICH-anic: Luke 23:26-56

Summary:
Dabarim 26 begins the fiftieth reading from the Ture with the words, “Then it shall be, when you enter the land which the IEUE your ALEIM gives you as an inheritance” (26:1). In Hebrew, the words for “when you enter” are ki tavo. This Torah portion begins with laws regarding first fruits and tithes. It goes on to discuss covenant renewal, after which MaSHE recites the blessings guaranteed to ISHaRaAL for covenant obedience and warns of the curses for apostasy.

Commentary:
Ab IEUE is the potter and we are the clay.
AV Jer 18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
AV Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
AV Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make [it].

AV Ish 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he [is] the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he [is] the tail.
AV Isa 9:4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
AV Ish 60:9 . Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish [Topaz] first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the IEUE thy ALEIM, and to the Qodesh One of ISHaRaAL, because he hath beautified thee.
