ISHOIEU 40:27-41:16
27 Why do you say, O IaQOB,
and speak, O ISHRaAl,
“My way is hidden from the Almighty IEUE,
and my right is disregarded by my ALEIM”?

28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Almighty IEUE is the everlasting ALEIM,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.

29 He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.

30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;

31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
Fear Not, For I Am with You

Portion Summary

The third reading from the book of BaRaASHIT (Genesis) is named Lech Lecha (לך לך ). It means “go forth.” The first verse says, “Now the Almighty IEUE said to ABaRAM (Abram), ‘Go forth (lech lecha לך לך) from your country.’” Section Lech Lecha introduces ABaREM (Abraham) and tells the story of his pilgrimage in pursuit of ALEIM.

Portion Commentary

ABaRAM blessed Melchizedek "without father, without mother, without genealogy" (Obarish (Hebrews) 7:2). The writer of Obarish (Hebrews) explains that Melchizedek was the king of Jerusalem (Salem), the king of peace, and he represents the Messianic priesthood. ~www.torahportions.org
